Culture Deviation: Staff Spouse
What do you do when a member of your staff carries culture well, but the spouse refuses to?
- Meet with the staff member and their spouse (and your wife).
- Share the facts and what you are feeling because of their actions, not “you are negative”, but “when you do this, it feels negative”.
- Appeal to them and let them know you need them and the leadership that they carry.
- Ask them questions to disarm them – “Are you okay? Is something going on?”.
