Cancelling a Church Service Time

Have you ever had to cancel a church service because it was not gaining ground? What were the indicators that it was time?

Yes! We tried an afternoon service on Sundays in 3 or 4 different seasons and it just did not work for us, so we canceled it. Utilize the language with the church of, “We are going to try this for the next 3-4 months. If we like it, we’ll keep it. If we don’t, we won’t.” Make sure you have apples to apples before you kill it. We ask the congregation what service times would suit them as well. If it doesn’t work for them, don’t do it. We are there to serve them, not a schedule that best serves us.
